Helicord Transmissions Private Limited was established in 1972 in India with an objective to manufacture and market Vee and Fan Belts under the brand name "HELICORD". Today HELICORD is a specialist in Automotive Timing Belts, Multi-Ribbed V-Belts and Raw Edge V-Belts in Cogged, Plain and Laminated constructions.

Since 2016, Helicord Transmissions is part of the Megadyne Group of Italy, the leaders in Polyurethene and Rubber Industrial Power Transmission Belts.

In 2018, Megadyne Group merged with Ammeraal Beltech to form Ammega, the new Global Belting Champion.
